This is a beginner level competitive swimming group with emphasis on learning all four strokes legally and properly while being introduced to the sport. Swimmers do need to know freestyle and backstroke and have some beginning knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers are typically 7-10 years old. These swimmers attend primarily Suburban League meets. Practice is offered three times per week. There is no attendance policy, just encouragement when swimmers and parents are ready for a bigger commitment. Meet attendance is expected.

This group focuses on stroke and turn refinement, competitive meet awareness, and preparation. In order to be on Group 2, a swimmer must demonstrate knowledge of all 4 competitive strokes and turns, with emphasis on legality. Athletes on Group 2 are 12 and under. They are offered four practices per week, and are encouraged to attend a minimum of 3. Swimmers in this practice group are introduced to how to goal setting. Swimmers will need to have swim fins and pull bouys for this group. Group 2 swimmers are encouraged to compete and work toward swimming all strokes and distances recommended by their coach at meets. Swimmers on this group are working towards achieving silver state and state qualifying times. They are expected to attend meets to the highest level which they qualify.

Group 2 Fees: $100/month(Sept-June); $25/month fundraising commitment(Oct-July). Both fees are for 10 months.
Group 3 swimmers practice four times per week and are primarily 10-12 year olds. Swimmers have started to exhibit good swimming skills. They spend their time in practice on both stroke technique and training skills and processes. They are beginning to develop their aerobic base with interval training and endurance work. Attendance is highly encouraged, with exceptions made for involvement in other sports and activities. Most 10 and under swimmers are female and have state or zone times in this group. We typically have 10 and under boys stay with group 2 unless they are at a really high level since developmentally they do not typically benefit from or enjoy this amount of swimming. The eleven and twelve year olds will be working toward or have state times. These swimmers should be capable of swimming all races at meets at this point. Swimmers are expected to attend meets in this group to the highest level they qualify. They will need to have their own swim fins and pull bouys.
