Team Fundraising
MACS families will be billed monthly for their fundraising requirement. Billing will begin with the October monthly billing period and end with the July monthly billing period (10 total billings).
The family monthly fundraising requirement is calculated by using the highest group level swimmer in that family. MACS will track all fundraising dollars. The fundraising requirement for each group will be evaluated every quarter to allow for changes due to the team’s financial needs
Fundraising requirements will be met for three months if a current MACS family recruits a new swimmer/family at any level. The recruited swimmer/family must remain in good financial standing with MACS.
The MACS practice groups have the following monthly fundraising commitments:

The following are the main fundraisers that MACS has in place. You may pick and choose which ones are right for you.
SCRIP
You buy gift cards to any of your favorite restaurants or retailers and a percentage is sent to MACS. There is no additional expense over the gift card face value. If you are going to spend the money anyway, why not have a percentage go to the team and toward your commitment? Check out the Great Lakes Scrip website for a list of the participating retailers: www.glscrip.com. Please contact Mary Lou Waite for more information. Watch for emails reminding the team when the orders will be placed. Remember this is a great way to take care of teachers, friend, and colleagues around the holidays. Click here to visit the team SCRIP page.
Butter Braids
Sold around Thanksgiving, each Butter Braid sold makes $5 for the team. If you are able to sell 20 butter braids you will make $100 towards your commitment. Swimmers will have 2-3 weeks to sell Butter Braids and then turn in their order forms along with payment. A pickup date will be scheduled for swimmers to pick up the Butter Braids. Please contact Stuart Urban for more information.
IMPORTANT DETAILS: Butter Braid sales are currently in process. The deadline to turn in your Butter Braid order is Saturday, November 10th. When you are ready to turn in your order form, deliver the form and all payments to your coach. ALL ORDERS MUST BE TURNED IN BY NOVEMBER 10TH! All orders will be available to pick up on Saturday, November 17th at Pier Point. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR ORDERS ON SATURDAY, 11/17 BETWEEN 9:30AM - 11:30AM, NO EXCEPTIONS (BUTTER BRAIDS ARE PERISHABLE). Thank you to Stuart Urban for leading this fundraising program!
Soliciting Donations, Selling Ads for the MACS Meet Program, and Getting Sponsors
Click here for information about Selling Ads in the Meet Programs. MACS typically has a silent auction as part of their Fall Invitational meet. It is easy to solicit items from businesses you patronize. The amount credited to you will equal the profit we made on the items you solicited. You also can receive 100% of any program ads sold or financial sponsorship obtained. Please contact Susan Bobka for sponsorship information.
SWIM-A-THON or Other Related Event
Click here for more information. Each family solicits donations through this program set up by USA Swimming. The donations may or may not be based on the number of laps swum. Please contact Todd Holmes for more information.
Tagawa’s Giveback Program
Click here for more information about this program. When shopping at Tagawa's, present the MACS Card and Tagawa Gardens will rebate a portion of all purchases back to MACS. This is an easy program for all friends, family, and neighbors. Please contact Susan Arnold for more information.
Corporate Matching
Make a donation to MACS and have your corporation match the funds if you work for a company that matches. This is an easy way to double your money. MACS will provide the paperwork verifying that MACS is a 501(c)(3) organization.
